America Oggi

Mario Fratti
24 March 2006

"The Italian contribution this week is 'Waiting...' [currently known as 'A Collapse'] by writer-director Vincent Marano (Manhattan Theatre Source). In a very confined space, the writer presents the tragedy of a young woman (an excellent Laura Williams) who is left a prisoner under a collapsed wall. The play confronts the hypocrisy that circulates around the woman as many make weak attempts to help her. You empathize with the victim and hope that she will be saved...Superb actors, well directed. Those who had the time could have stayed and had a conversation with the playwright and the actors. Particularly good were the women in multiple roles: Kathleen O'Neil, Christina Romanello, and Stacey Raymond."
